SACRAMENTO SERVICE ALERT - DOWNTOWN PROTESTS
March 27, 2018, Marysville, CA – Protests in and around downtown Sacramento are planned during the afternoon commute period for Tuesday, March 27th through Thursday, March 29th. As a result, heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic is expected near City Hall and the County Courthouse, but other locations may also be impacted. Yuba-Sutter Transit is in contact with officials from the Sacramento Regional Transit District and with them we will be monitoring these protests and any related events throughout the week.
Due to the uncertain nature and magnitude of such events, it is difficult to anticipate in advance what changes, if any, will be necessary. While we are planning to operate all of our Sacramento schedules and serve all of our downtown stops, passengers should expect schedule delays and some stops may be inaccessible at times particularly on J Street. Passengers should pay close attention to the situation and move to another stop if it is obvious that service to your preferred stop will not be possible.
Ultimately, if J Street is rendered unusable as a result of the protests, passengers should use one of our P Street bus stops at 13th, 9th or 5th Streets as all are well outside of the anticipated protest area. In addition, under such conditions we advise passengers to catch the first Yuba-Sutter Transit bus that comes by regardless of schedule or destination. Just let your driver know your final destination and we will make sure that you eventually get there this week.
